The day before 9/11

REGION

Judy Larocque, 50, of Framingham was heading out for a business trip. She had a talk with her daughter on the phone.

Paige Farley-Hackel, 46, of Newton was planning to get her radio show nationally syndicated while she was in L.A. She made dinner with a friend, her friend's daughter, and her husband. Her husband shot some pool.

Rahma Salie, 28, of Boston talked on the phone with her mother, Haleema Salie, in Newton. They talked about the wedding Rahma was going to attend on the West Coast.

The evening of Sept. 10 was a normal one for the women as it was for many other passengers on the planes that would be crashed in the 9/11 attacks.

In an eerie story titled "Monday evening," the Star-Telegram of Fort Worth looks not at 9/11 but at what happened 9/10 -- five years ago today -- in the lives of the people who would take the airplanes that were hijacked by terrorists.
