A Tri-Valley League tilt

SPORTS

A nor'easter may be howling around the area tomorrow, but the perfect storm is tonight's Tri-Valley League showdown in Holliston, where the host Panthers will square off against fellow league unbeaten Medfield.

Two explosive attacks, featuring a trio of exceptional backs in Medfield's Michael Lane and Holliston's duo of Matt Bellomo and Matt Edwards, and a pair of stout defenses make this a must-see event.

Here's four more matchups to watch the next two days, weather permitting of course.

Braintree at Natick: Redmen have their eye on 23rd straight win, but Braintree is fresh off 22-0 blitz of Brookline; (7 p.m. Friday)

Waltham at Everett: C.J. Mula and the Hawks (5-1; 4-0 GBL) are picking up steam, but Everett (6-0, 3-0) is formidable, a 28-point output against Xaverian the fewest of the season; (7 p.m. Friday)

Hudson at Ayer: Can the Hawks bounce back after their disastrous trip to Ashburnham and 28-7 loss to Oakmont? (7 p.m. Friday)

Xaverian at St. John's (1 p.m. Saturday): With John Andreoli back at the controls at QB, Pioneers (5-2) take a shot at Hawks; (1 p.m. Saturday)

Because of Saturday's very wet forecast, three area games have already been rescheduled:

* Wayland at Newton South (Friday, 3 p.m.)
* Hudson Catholic at Worcester Voke (Friday, 4 p.m.)
* Marian at Lowell Catholic (Monday, 7 p.m.)
