Cutting-edge lectures

OK, so it's not exactly "Grey’s Anatomy," but doubtless there are some of you out there interested in two free lectures upcoming lectures offered at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

On Nov. 7, the hospital will host “Second Chances: A Healthy Outlook on Life with Gastric Bypass Surgery.” The discussion will provide in-depth information about gastric bypass surgery as a tool for weight loss and lifestyle change.

On Nov. 15, the offering will be offering the optimistically-titled “Totally Hip: The Latest on Joint Replacement.” This will be a discussion of the latest treatments and techniques for hip replacement, including minimally invasive procedures, the types of implants used, and outcomes.

Both lectures start at 7 p.m. in the hospital's Shipley Auditorium. They're free, but reservations are encouraged. Call 617-243-5900 or email nwh.org/classes.
