The company announced yesterday it will cut 1,250 jobs worldwide. The company has nearly 31,000 employees worldwide and 8,700 in Massachusetts. Teuber says the layoffs will help the company get the maximum benefit from its aggressive acquisition strategy, the Globe's Business section reports today. EMC has bought 21 companies over the past three years. Teuber said that has inevitably led to redundant positions.
