Flyers diving right in

FRAMINGHAM

Graduation hit the Framingham High girls' swimming program hard -- 14 seniors departed who had fueled the Flyers' drive to back-to-back Bay State Conference crowns. But coach Mike Foley's squad hardly lowered their expectations this fall. Quite the contrary.

In the pool, Framingham has stretched its conference unbeaten streak to 33 consecutive meets and heads into this Friday's regular-season finale against archrival Natick with a 12-1 record.

"We definitely went into this season knowing we had big shoes to fill," said Hallee Walsh, a senior this year who is one of four Flyer captains. "We had to work our butts off."
