Rattigan of Newton contributed this item today in the Boston Globe Magazine's "Tales From the City" section. During a neighborhood stroll one evening, my neighbor Dean, an avid Boston sports fan, beckoned me over to his yard. A baby robin had fallen out of its nest, and he had made a little home for it in a box. "Did you name him?" I asked. Grinning, Dean replied, "Yeah. Larry." It took me just a split second. Of course, Larry Bird. Posted by the Boston Globe City & Region Desk at 08:18 AM
