Marvelous Matts in Holliston

SPORTS

The Holliston football team has a pair of magnificent Matts in the backfield: Bellomo and Edwards.

One week after Matt Bellomo chewed up Ashland with 274 yards in a Panther win, running partner Matt Edwards rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns to power Tri-Valley League co-leader Holliston to a 33-13 win over Norton on Friday. The win sets up Friday's showdown against fellow TVL unbeaten Medfield. Here's a wrap on our other four games to watch this past weekend:

Hudson at Oakmont: A long ride home from Ashburnham for the Hawks after suffering their first CMass Division 3 loss, 28-7.

Acton-Boxborough at Lincoln-Sudbury: Paul Shayan scores a pair of touchdowns as A-B hands L-S its second loss in the Dual County League, 20-9.

Wayland at Westford: Ben Sherry was immense in Wayland's seventh straight win, rushing for 217 yards and four touchdowns while throwing for another in 34-14-14 win.

Dedham at Natick: Theo McCummings tosses a pair of TDs and the unbeaten Redmen (7-0) return a pair of picks for touchdowns in rolling to their 23rd straight win, 42-7 over Dedham.
