« No action on convicted priest's bid to avoid counseling | Main | Hermann Eilts, 84 » Friday, October 20, 2006Meat, anyone?ASHLAND Tuck in your napkins, meat-eaters. The Ashland Lions Club is holding a charity meat raffle tomorrow at TJ Food and Spirits on Route 135 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Prizes include pork loins, pork and beef roasts, hams, hot dogs, Italian sausages, cheese, sirloin strips, chops, and a variety of steaks. The origin of meat raffles is not entirely clear, yet the Ashland event has managed to persevere even in an age of cholesterol concerns.
