NEWTON

The popular Russian School of Mathematics is making a move.

The nine-year-old, for profit school, now located in Newton Centre, is requesting a site permit from aldermen for landscaping, lighting, and other changes to the parking areas for its new digs at 200 Wells Avenue.

Principal Inessa Rifkin said they plan to move the school, which has 896 students from ages 5 to 17, after they receive the permit. The school attracts half its students from Newton and the rest from surrounding communities, Rifkin said.
