Judy Foreman, in the Health Answers column, writes that there are no scientifically proven alternatives to that pesky needle. But then there is Steve Bernardi, co-owner of Johnson Drug in Waltham, who thinks herbal remedies can help. He favors Boiron's Oscillococcinum, made from duck liver, to reduce the duration and severity of the flu, Foreman reports today.
