Flautist to flaunt fabulosity

NEWTON

Internationally acclaimed flautist Carol Wincenc will appear in her only Boston-area performance on Sunday, November 26th.

First Prize Winner of the Walter W. Naumburg Solo Flute Competition, Wincenc has appeared as a soloist with the Chicago, Saint Louis, Atlanta and London Symphonies, the Mostly Mozart Festival and at music festivals in Aldeburgh, Budapest, Frankfurt, Santa Fe and Spoleto.

The 3 p.m. concert will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Newton Center as part of the Suzuki School of Newton's Artist Concert Series. The performance will benefit the Newtonville-based music school’s scholarship fund and is sponsored in part by M. Steinert & Sons and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
