WESTBOROUGH

Coyote sightings over the past several days in the southwest side of town have prompted Westborough police to warn residents to look after their pets and keep trash under control.

More than half a dozen residents have called police since to report coyote sightings in the early morning hours in the neighborhoods around Harvest Way and Nash Street, Police Chief Alan Gordon said.

For residents who don't happen to be Roadrunners, police have suggested that they should make loud noises and slowly walk away if they see coyotes. They also said they should call animal control at 508-366-3060 if they witness aggressive coyotes or believe a pet has been attacked.
