(Michael Kraemer with his team zooming by, Globe Staff Photo by Bill Polo) With a large roster and a coach who emphasizes a team-oriented approach, the Medfield High School cross-country squad has achieved a remarkable record: four straight undefeated seasons in league meet competition. The team clinched its fourth consecutive regular season perfect record last week (Oct. 24) with a narrow victory over perennial powerhouse Hopkinton that lifted it to 7-0 against Tri-Valley League rivals. The Warriors finished a close second to Holliston at the league championship meet Monday, competing without their top runner, Dan O’Connell, who sat out to rest an injured knee. But the team remains a contender in the state championship races that will cap off the season. Medfield’s consistent success is often attributed to an all-for-one, one-for-all approach emphasized by coach Michael Kraemer.
