American Superconductor performance is electric

WESTBOROUGH

High-tech materials that can deliver 150 times more electricity than conventional wire are starting to push into the commercial market.

And that's good news for Westborough-based American Superconductor Corp., one of three companies in the United States that make products using the technology, the Christian Science Monitor reports.

"It's been a long time coming, a real marathon, but it's exciting because we're seeing the promise become reality," says the firm's president, Greg Yurek.
