Ashland bans smoking in private clubs

ASHLAND

The Board of Health passed a regulation yesterday to prohibit smoking in private clubs.

The ban will go into effect on January 2, affecting the American Legion and VFW Posts, as well as the Ashland Fish and Game Club.

The move brings private clubs in line with the rest of the town, in which smoking was banned in workplaces in August 1999.
