Brookline firefighters make a rescue during the Feb. 9, 2000 fire A second jury will determine damages from a fire that took five lives and leveled a Newton office building in February 2000. The fire started in a second-floor office of a three-story building that housed 25 businesses at 200 Boylston St. Last month, a civil trial jury decided that the building's owner, Sidney Kriensky, was negligent. The plaintiffs are seeking $5 million, said Kevin Curry, a lawyer for one of the plaintiffs.
