18-0 ... Bentley still perfect

SPORTS

A four-hour bus ride? Saint Rose unbeaten on its home floor?

No problem for the Bentley men's basketball team. The Falcons broke away in the second half with an 18-5 run for their 18th consecutive victory, stopping the College of Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup in Albany, N.Y. Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore guard Lew Finnegan of Lexington paced Bentley (18-0), ranked fourth in Division 2 nationally, with 15 points while senior post Jeff Holmes added 14. The Falcons held Saint Rose to a season low in points, 21 points below its average.

With the victory over Saint Rose (14-5, 10-4 NE-10)), the Falcons (14-0 NE-10) moved one step closer to their third straight NE-10 crown. Bentley owns a four-game lead over Saint Rose with eight games to play. The Falcons play at Pace on Tuesday night.

Junior Nate Fritsch collected 11 points and five rebounds while Finnegan contributed six boards and three steals.
