The Saint Anselm men's basketball team stayed with host Bentley for a half Wednesday night. Then sophomore guard Lew Finnegan buried a 3-pointer, igniting a 17-1 run and the high-flying Falcons were off to their 17th straight victory, bouncing Saint A's 74-45 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at the Dana Center in Waltham.
Finnegan (20 points) continued his recent scoring binge, pouring 20-plus points for the fourth time in the last five games to power Bentley (17-0), ranked fourth nationally in Division 2. The 6-foot-4 Lexington native and Cal Poly Pomona transfer was 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc. Junior guard Yusuf Abdul-Ali added 11 points for Bentley. Freshman guard Jason Westrol added seven points, seven rebounds and four assists.
The Falcons hit the road on Saturday afternoon, playing at the College of Saint Rose, the second-place team in the NE-10.
