Bentley men: 19 and counting

SPORTS

One more win. One more player stepping forward for the undefeated Bentley men's basketball team.

Senior Danny Lawson (18 points) came off the bench to bury six of his team's season-high 14 three-pointers as Falcons (19-0) topped host Pace University 65-62 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup in Pleasantville, N.Y. on Tuesday night.

The Falcons copped the win despite being scoreless for the first 3:35, during which time they faced their first double-digit deficit of the season (10-0), and for the final 2:44, after senior post Jeff Holmes had made a free throw to give his team a 65-58 lead.

Pace (12-10, 8-6 NE-10) closed within three, but freshman guard Carlos Howard missed a trey as time expired.

Bentley, ranked fourth nationally in Division 2, will have a week off before seeking its 20th straight win next Wednesday at home against Merrimack College.
