About 1,700 students, faculty and other members of the university community are expected to attend the forum this afternoon where Carter will discuss his book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid." The book has caused a stir because of its criticisms of Israel. A university spokesman says a protest area has been set up near the hall where Carter will speak.
