Bioweapons at new BU lab?

Posted by Ralph Ranalli June 24, 2007 07:12 AM

ASHLAND

Are biological weapons being engineered in Boston? That's one of the questions that will be explored by speaker Joan Ecklein during a talk at the Ashland Public Library tomorrow.

Ecklein, a former UMass-Boston sociology professor, will discuss Boston University's new biolab, and will raise questions about whether the program will involve viruses and lethal bacteria that could be accidentally released. The talk will be held in the community room at the library, 66 Front St., at 7 p.m., and is sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Public Library.
