Needham groups gird for override battle

Activists on both sides of the override battle in Needham are aggressively making their cases in advance of the scheduled Apr. 10 vote.

Correspondent Lauren K. Meade reports that a pair of groups supporting the tax hike proposals are setting up Web sites, planning events and running blogs. They are Citizens for Needham Schools and Yes for Needham.

A less-well-funded opposition group is hoping direct appeals and letters to the editor will help defeat the measures -- $21 million to renovate High Rock School and $1.1 million to retain nine teachers.
