Groveland Town Meeting passes override

Posted by Marcia Dick April 29, 2008 10:23 AM

A turnout of 144 Town Meeting voters on Monday night unanimously voiced their support for continuing Groveland's road improvement progam via a $172,340 Proposition 2 1/2 override.
The paving program had been funded through a continuous series of one-year capital exclusions that passed in some years, and not in others. With no other override this spring and the town expecting a slight decrease in its fiscal year 2009 budget, the Board of Selectmen opted to present the road improvement program as a permanent override this year.
The override must now pass at the town's election, scheduled for Monday.
