Surveillance officers
You've probably seen this occupation portrayed in the movies — if you're trying to cheat the house, these are the people who will catch you.
Using audio and video equipment, they monitor the casino floor from an observation room, looking for cheating or theft and making sure the casino is in compliance with laws and regulations.
Requirements for this position may include classroom training, state licensing, and prior security experience. In 2006, salaries for this occupation averaged between $21,600 and $35,970, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
