Putnam Investments

Mass. location: Boston and Andover

Total worldwide employees: More than 2,600

Total announced job cuts: About 260

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the money management firm said that they would be laying off 260 people, or 10 percent of its staff. Jeff Carney, Putnam senior managing director, said the jobs will mainly be cut from its sales and operations staff, and mainly from offices in Boston and Andover. Putnam had already cut over 20 jobs late last year.
