Norwell Visiting Nurse Association

May 16, 2008

Once I read about Salute to Nurses, and the words "compassion, knowledge, clinical care, and communication skills," I knew that I would write of my wonderful nurse, Teresa Colacitti. Teresa has been my visiting nurse for eight years. She was assigned me after I survived a life-threatening surgery but was permanently left unable to speak. Teresa held my hand and renewed my strength. She has cushioned my heart with her caring hands.

When I am faced with an insurmountable problem, Teresa steps in and together we mange to make things okay again. She not only interacts with me, but she also has taught my husband important medical skills. The three of us manage to navigate through each day. Teresa is a calming presence while all the while handling a busy work schedule and a busy family life. No matter what time of day or night, she has rushed to my rescue. I believe in my heart that God sent Teresa to me and to my family. Each time she visits I am reminded of how blessed I am to have her in my life.
