Why I love my job

Marie Johnson, 67

Director of volunteer services, Winchester Hospital

"When I took this job many years ago, it was because it was local and I needed to go back to work, but I've stayed so long because it's interesting and challenging. I oversee 750 volunteers in addition to other responsibilities. We are always encouraged to take on new things, and I'm also chair of the ethics committee — and I recently started a book club at the hospital.

"I enjoy going to work every day, because I feel that everyone at the hospital is respected and appreciated for their contributions. I feel very proud of where I work."
