The biggest thing, I think, is talking to the patients, because anxiety is just such a huge issue after the surgery. You have to put yourself in their shoes. I try to put an optimistic spin on it, and be happy for the patient, try and joke a little bit. I just love taking care of these people. They put their lives on the line and I feel grateful for them.
