It seems a new culinary star has been born.
The latest dish inspiring people to wait in long lines in New York City is the ramen burger, created by ramen blogger Keizo Shimamoto.
This month, writers at The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, Business Insider, and International Business Times have written about the burger after the creation had people salivating on Aug. 3 at Smorgasburg, a weekend market for food vendors located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The dish of a hamburger patty served between “buns” made from pan-fried ramen noodles even merited air time on “Good Morning America.”
Shimamoto breaks down the fixings that make up the ramen burger on his blog: “secret shoyu sauce” sandwiched between “scallions, arugula, and two craftily formed buns made from Sun Noodle’s freshly cut ramen noodles.”
The ramen burger also has a Facebook page.
If you want to try the ramen burger, Shimamoto will be back at Smorgasbord on Saturday. If you go, be sure to tell us about in the comments.
