Beacon Hill resident George La Perle dreamed for years of building the pictured home along Storrow Drive and living on the banks of the Charles River. But after spending years acquiring the property, getting permission to build, and facing legal challenges from neighbors, La Perle is ready to pass his dream onto somebody else.
The airline pilot said he no longer faces any legal obstacles to building the residence, but is offering the land parcel, building plans, permits, and approvals for sale. He is advertising a listing price of $2.85 million and plans to entertain offers until Oct. 31.
“It almost has the quality of having the thing put up for adoption,” La Perle told Boston.com. “I’m looking to find a good parent or a group of parents to take on the cause because I think it will be a wonderful addition to the local skyline.”
Here’s a look at the property.
