Fidelity Investments' private equity arm has acquired a majority position in Avtek Inc., a Providence company that makes communications products and offers related services for industrial and commercial customers. Fidelity Capital Investors joined Avtek's current senior management to buy the company after founder and primary owner Ralph Papitto sold his interest to retire.
