CBS names Snyder COO of online unit

WASHINGTON --CBS Interactive, which oversees CBS's online strategy across its various divisions and businesses, has named Stephen E. Snyder as chief operating officer.

Snyder will oversee all operations and support functions of the online Web sites of CBS, CBS News and CBS Sportsline, among others. Before his promotion, he was senior vice president and general manager of CBS Sporstline.com where he raised the number of users and subscription and advertising revenues. No successor has been named to replace him at CBS Sportsline.

Shares of CBS Corp. rose 21 cents to $31.55 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
