Closing Glance: Construction, engineering finish higher

NEW YORK—Shares of construction and engineering rallied on Friday to close higher, bucking a Credit Suisse downgrade of Emcor Group Inc. Meanwhile, the broader market edged higher in spite of a report showing consumer confidence fell.

Here's how some shares of construction and engineering companies fared on Friday:

Perini Corp., up $2.09, or 5.8 percent, to $38.32.

Quanta Services Inc., up $1.28, or 5 percent, to $27.13.

Chicago Bridge & Iron Co., up $1.01, or 2.2 percent, to $47.64.

Emcor, off 4 cents to $25.72.
