NEW YORK—Telecom carriers traded mixed Monday, with Verizon Communications up following solid first-quarter results and rival AT&T inching lower as the broader market wavered.
Verizon's results were fueled by strength in its wireless segment. They prompted Stifel Nicolaus analyst Christopher King to upgrade the stock to "Buy" from "Hold."
Here is a look at how some key telecom stocks performed Monday:
AT&T Inc. fell 28 cents to $38.30.
Sprint Nextel Corp. fell 13 cents to $7.78.
Verizon Communications Inc. rose 91 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $37.95.
Qwest Communications International Inc. rose 2 cents to $4.92.![]()
