McKesson names Edward A. Mueller, CEO of Qwest, to board

SAN FRANCISCO—McKesson Corp. named Edward A. Mueller to its board, the healthcare services company said Monday.

Mueller is chief executive of Qwest Communications International Inc., and before that was CEO of Williams-Sonoma Inc., CEO of Ameritech Corp. and president of Pacific Bell.

McKesson CEO John H. Hammergren said in a statement that Mueller's "extensive experience in telecommunications and consumer retailing," as well as "expertise with large-scale, complex businesses" are useful for the company's board.
