Opening Glance: Media companies' shares waver

NEW YORK—Shares of major media companies wavered Wednesday morning, as investors anticipated that the Federal Reserve will cut its benchmark fed funds rate by a quarter-point, but will also signal a hold on further reductions.

Here's how shares of some major media companies were performing Wednesday morning:

Walt Disney Co., down 7 cents to $32.69.

Time Warner Inc., down 19 cents to $15.08.

News Corp., up 33 cents to $18.56.

New York Times, up 3 cents to $19.64.
