Closing Glance: Electrical equipment shares climb on earns

NEW YORK—Shares of electrical equipment companies ended the day higher, buoyed by better-than-expected first-quarter earnings from Regal Beloit Corp. and an improved full-year outlook from Graftech International Ltd.

How some shares of electrical equipment companies performed:

Graftech, up $2.03, or 10.3 percent, to $21.68.

Regal Beloit, up $5.54, or 14.9 percent, to $42.63.

Flextronics International Ltd., up 57 cents, or 5.5 percent, to $10.96.

Amphenol Corp., up $1.34, or 2.9 percent, to $47.52. The stock hit a 52-week high of $47.62 earlier in the session.
