Green Mountain expects rising sales in 2008

WATERBURY, Vt.—Coffee maker Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. on Thursday said it expects fiscal 2008 sales to rise on the growing popularity of its Keurig coffee brewing systems.

The Waterbury, Vt.-based company predicts fiscal 2008 earnings between 73 cents and 78 cents per share, or 84 cents to 89 cents per share, excluding non-cash amortization expenses. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial, on average, expect a profit of 75 cents per share.

Green Mountain expects revenue to grow 42 percent to 47 percent, implying revenue of $485.2 million to $502.3 million. Analysts predict revenue of $487 million.

For the fiscal third-quarter Green Mountain expects earnings of 19 cents to 22 cents per shares, including 3 cents per share in non-cash amortization expenses. Analysts expect a profit of 20 cents per share.

It also expects third-quarter revenue will grow 42 percent to 47 percent, implying revenue of $117 million to $121.1 million. Analysts expect revenue of $114.6 million.
