Timken will raise prices on some metal products

CANTON, Ohio—Specialty alloy maker The Timken Co. on Thursday said it will raise prices on some of its bars used in making automotive parts and hand tools, effective July 1.

Timken said it will raise base prices on hot-rolled, cold-finished and thermal-treated special bar quality products by up to $50 per ton, based on size.

Raw-material surcharges remain in effect.
