NEW YORK—Telecommunications service providers inched modestly higher along with Wall Street Friday, though Sprint erased earlier gains and headed for a lower close. The struggling wireless carrier named a new CFO on Thursday.
How some key telecom stocks performed Friday:
AT&T Inc. rose 19 cents to $40.13.
Sprint Nextel Corp. fell 13 cents to $7.89.
Verizon Communications Inc. rose 27 cents to $39.59.
Qwest Communications International Inc. rose 11 cents, or 2.1 percent to $5.41.![]()
