Sector Glance: Shares of household durables mostly rise

NEW YORK—Shares of companies which make household durable goods mostly rose Friday as investors digested news employers slashed far fewer jobs in April than predicted and word the Federal Reserve will coordinate with European central banks to try and stave off the global credit crisis

Here's how some stocks of household durables companies traded:

Black & Decker Corp., up 48 cents to $67.61

Whirlpool Corp., up 62 cents to $75.60

Snap-on Inc., down 18 cents to $58.99

Stanley Works, which makes tools, up 39 cents at $50.05
