WASHINGTON—American International Group Inc., the world's largest insurer, spent nearly $3.9 million in the first quarter to lobby on insurance-related matters and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
The company also lobbied the federal government on numerous issues, including home bankruptcies and foreclosures, consumer product safety legislation, sovereign wealth funds, international trade and climate change.
In the January-to-March period, the company lobbied Congress, the U.S. Trade Representative's office, National Security Council and State and Treasury departments, according to the April 18 report filed with the House clerk's office.![]()
