Alliant Techsystems wins $49.8M Army contract for ammunition

WASHINGTON—Alliant Techsystems Inc. was awarded a $49.8 million contract to supply ammunition to the Army, the Defense Department said Thursday.

The work will be performed at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo.

Shares of Alliant Techsystems, based in Edina, Minn., rose 43 cents to $112.14 Tuesday.
