Americasbank fires CEO and names CFO acting company head

TOWSON, Md.—AmericasBank Corp. Monday said that it fired Chief Executive Officer Mark H. Anders and named Chief Financial Officer A. Gary Rever as interim CEO.

Anders had been with the commercial bank since July 2003 when he was brought in as part of a company restructuring.

AmericasBank did not say why Anders was dismissed.

Rever has been with the bank as CFO since August 2003.

AmericasBank shares fell 14 cents, or 12.2 percent, to $1.01 in afternoon trading.
