Closing Glance: Electrical equipment stocks close higher

NEW YORK—Shares of electrical equipment companies rallied to finish higher on Tuesday, buoyed by better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results from Emerson Electric Co. on higher overseas sales.

How some shares of electrical equipment companies ended:

Emerson, up $2.64, or 4.9 percent, to $56.06.

Graftech International Ltd., up 9 cents to $22.64.

General Cable Corp., up 93 cents to $69.61.

Thomas & Betts Corp., up 2 cents to $36.57.
