Closing Glance: Most Internet software, services stocks fall

NEW YORK—Internet software and services stocks finished trading mostly lower Monday after Microsoft Corp. withdrew its bid for struggling Internet icon Yahoo Inc.

Yahoo shares experienced the steepest fall, declining 15 percent by the end of the day.

Also impacting the overall market was a new record oil price of over $120 a barrel.

Here is a look at how key Internet software and services companies performed Monday:

Yahoo Inc. fell $4.30 to $24.37.

Akamai Technologies Inc. rose 22 cents to $35.17.

Google Inc. rose $13.61 to $594.90.

EBay Inc. fell 25 cents to $30.86.

VeriSign Inc. fell 12 cents to $36.71.
