Opening Glance: Apparel makers down oil, quarterly reports

NEW YORK—Shares of apparel makers fell Tuesday morning as investors as companies including mortgage lender Fannie Mae and Swiss bank UBS reported quarterly losses.

Rising oil prices also weighed on the broader market.

Here is a look at how some apparel makers performed shortly after market open:

Jones Apparel Group dropped 46 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $16.50.

VF Corp. declined 57 cents to $75.36.

Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. shed 74 cents to $60.02.

Liz Claiborne Inc. slipped 24 cents to $17.83.
