NEW YORK—Shares of gold-mining companies closed higher Tuesday as the value of the U.S. dollar declined in European trading.
Gold for June delivery rose $3.60 to settle at $877.70 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Here is how some gold miners finished:
Goldcorp Inc. rose 18 cents to $36.86.
Gold Fields Ltd. rose 43 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $13.59.
Newmont Mining Corp. rose 62 cents to $45.97.
Barrick Gold Corp. rose 48 cents to $39.39.![]()
