FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Christine Chin, president and publisher of the Fort Collins Coloradoan since 2005, resigned Tuesday, citing family and personal reasons.

"I've achieved the professional goals I set for myself 20 years ago and decided it was time to work on my work-life balance," said Chin, who is married and has a 9-year-old daughter.

A search for a successor is under way, said Michelle Krans, Pacific Group regional vice president for Gannett Co. Inc., which owns the Coloradoan.

"Christine and I have worked together for 15 years and I have the utmost respect for her," Krans said. "In her three years as publisher of the Coloradoan, she has served the community with a great deal of passion and always with her customers in mind. I wish her every success in her future endeavors."

Chin said the highlight of her tenure was making the Coloradoan more local in focus and more connected to community needs and issues.

"It has been a privilege and an honor to work with this team and to serve this community," she said. "I enjoy making a difference and will continue to do so in some other capacity in the future."
