BENTONVILLE, Ark.—Warehouse retailer Sam's Club said Wednesday it will offer annual memberships for nonmembers and a $40 gift card for existing members if a customer buys one of a dozen select products.
Sam's Club said it is offering the memberships to help families "stretch their economic stimulus checks further."
An annual business membership typically costs $35 with individual and family memberships starting at $40.
The retailer, which is owned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc., said it will also cash economic stimulus checks for members at no charge.
The offer lasts from May 18 to May 31.
The items in the offer include BF Goodrich tires, a patio dining set, Serta mattresses and certain electronics.
Wal-Mart shares rose 20 cents to $56.55 in morning trading.![]()
